Ahmed "Knowmadic" Ali is an award-winning spoken word artist, educator, and civic leader based in Edmonton. He served as Edmonton’s 7th Poet Laureate from 2017 to 2019 and was the 2011 Canadian Festival of Spoken Word Champion. Born in Mogadishu, Somalia, Ahmed came to Canada as a child after fleeing civil war, and his work often explores identity, migration, belonging, resilience, and public imagination.

Through workshops, school residencies, performances, keynotes, and consulting, Ahmed helps students and communities use poetry as a tool for critical thinking, confidence, and connection.
