Inaugural Black History Month event
On stage.
15 years of performing in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom and Sudan, from the 2011 Canadian Spoken Word Championship finals to reading at Edmonton City Council as Poet Laureate.
Additional appearances include MuslimFest and a UK tour with Literature Wales and the British Council (2015).
Where poetry meets sound.
Spoken word is music, even without instruments: rhythm and tempo build and release tension, repetition works like a drum, breath is dynamics, and silence is a pause you use on purpose.
