About

Meet Ahmed beyond the bio.

The personal story behind Knowmadic: refugee journey, first-stage failure, comedy training, community building, and teaching as a calling.

Somalia to Italy to Canada

Born in Mogadishu, Ahmed fled the Somali Civil War as a young child, spent time in Italy, and came to Edmonton in 1992.

Language and belonging

He began school in Canada with no English at age eight, a personal history that shapes his attention to language, identity, and voice.

Comedy and spoken word craft

His training includes Comedy Writing and Performance at Humber College and Drama Oral Presentation at Grant MacEwan University.

Community leadership

Knowmadic grew from performance into teaching, Breath In Poetry community work, civic service, and youth-focused arts leadership.

The origin story
